“All the kings on earth will give you thanks, Lord,
when they hear what you have promised.
They will sing of the Lord’s ways,
for the Lord’s glory is great.
Though the Lord is exalted,
he takes note of the humble;
but he knows the haughty from a distance.”
We tend to think that promises are meant to be broken. We live in a fallen world with fallen people who, even in their best attempts, may very well let us down. Yet the Psalmist says that even the kings of the earth will give thanks when they hear of what The Lord has promised. His promises are true, lasting, never broken.
