Psalm 138:1-3 CSB

“I will give you thanks with all my heart;
I will sing your praise before the heavenly beings.

I will bow down toward your holy temple
and give thanks to your name
for your constant love and truth.
You have exalted your name
and your promise above everything else.

On the day I called, you answered me;
you increased strength within me.”

It is so easy to start each day with a list of to-do’s or want-to’s. What if we began each day by thanking God with all our hearts? If we take a long, hard look inside our hearts, what would we find? Are the cares and concerns of the world crowding out our devotion to Christ? The Psalmist gave thanks for God’s name, His constant love and His truth.

The Psalmist also said that on the day he cried out to God, God answered him, increasing the strength within him. Now, it often seems our prayers go unanswered. While the answers may not come overnight, God hears us. What are we asking God for? Are we seeking to know Him more?
